Debi Prasanna Pattanayak
Dr Debi Prasanna Pattanayak is a professor, linguist, social scientist and author. He was the founder-director of the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore. Pattanayak was awarded the Padma Shri in1987 for his contribution to formalizing and adding Bodo as a language in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India. Pattanayak was also the head of the team that prepared the document that ultimately won classical language status for Odia. He is now the chairman of the Institute of Odia Studies and Research, Bhubaneswar. He was the recipient of the inaugural Kalinga Sahitya Samman award in 2014.
